                                     Nationality:Bengali.
                    She was trail and easily broken and very much sensitive. She had a rich and respectable.The Dutt were important people in Calcutta.She was Bengali her father name is Govind Chander Dutt,well to-do,a good linguist.Her father favourit poet is Wordsworth.Her mother was a woman steeped in the Hindu myths,and a woman of loving and sweet nature.Her sister name is Aru and her brother name is Abju.In 1869 the family left for Europe,and Toru went to a French school at Nice for a time.Then the girl begun to turn their knowledge of both French and English into good account by translating French lyrics into English verse.
                   In 1871 the family moved to cambrigde where Aru and Toru attended the so called ‘Higher Lecture for Woman’.In suptember 1873 ,the family return to Calcutta.

·        Publishing career.

After publication of several translations and literary discussions, she published A Sheaf Gleaned in French Fields, a volume of French poems she had translated into English, with Saptahiksambad Press of Bhowanipore, India in 1876. Eight of the poems had been translated by her elder sister Aru. This volume came to the notice of Edmund Gosse in 1877, who reviewed it quite favorably in the Examiner that year. Sheaf would see a second Indian edition in 1878 and a third edition by Kegan Paul of London in 1880, but Dutt lived to see neither of these triumphs.
                                      

·     Her writing style.
       She translated Sanskrit into English.She wrote many poem and taken idea Ramayana and Mahabharata.She learn English.She also learn French.In 23 November to 6 September Toru has learned Sanskrit ,laved in the Ramayana ,the Mahabharata and Sanskrit has translated a few tales from the original Sanskrit into English Verse.She was ill,very ill;she had recurrent attack of assault and cough shudder;She fight a great deal of blood,which left her  ” quite weak and prostrate ”.She was died very young age.

·       Her work.
        She wrote French novel ‘Le Journal Mademoiselled’ Arrivers’, was published posthumously one critic said…….
                          "This one surpasses all the prodigies.
                            She is a Frenchwoman in this book,
                            and a Frenchwoman like ourselves;
                            she thinks, she writes,like one of us”.

·     Laxman:history religious character.
           Laxman is a narrative poem.It tells us a story of the heroic character Laxman.Laxaman is a historical character.He was a prince of king Dashrath.In the great epic ,” The Ramayana “ he is almost a shadow of Lord Rama.He is known for his brotherly love,faith and bravery.
·       Faith and Helplessness of Laxhman:
                      The story begins with the conversation between Sita and Laxman.Laxman is a great example of faith.In the forest he wanders with Rama and Sita.In a situation Rama goes for hunting on demand of Sita,he asks Laxman to guard her at any coast.While he was guarding her,Sita hears cry and believes it is her husbands-shouting for help.She asks Laxman to go and save but he denies and tells that his brother can not be defeaded or killed so easily.  
·     “Jada Bharata in Vishnu Purana”.
                     The story of Jadabharata is a story about Bharata, son of Rishabha, it appears in the second section of the Vishnu Purana and the fifth stanza of the Bhagavata Purana.The story of king Bharata gives up everything to live a life of ascetic austerity in the forest.
·       Savitri”.
                    The discription of the defference between the ‘Yama’ and ‘Yamraj’.When Satyavan is dead and  Savitri is holding anxious vigil by his side ,Yama appears before her.
·       The Tree of life”.

Broad Daylight, with a send of weariness!

It is describes how,as the invalid lay with her father’s hand in hers,in thatclose,voiceless communion which the two knew and loved so well.     -“The Lotus”.
                     The poem tells us the story of the birth of the Lotus flower.There was a conflict between the ‘Lily’ and the Rose about their claim of the Queen.Love goes to Flora to find the answer.Love asks such as a flower that should be delicious as the rose ,and stately as the Lily.Love and Flora both are releted to ‘Greek’ and ‘Roman’ myths.Flora in Roman mythology is goddess of Flower springtime.She is a beautiful maiden.She wears a crown of flower.
·      Description of nature and natural aspects ‘The lotus’.
         Toru is a poet of nature .This poem reavils her “keen Sensitiveness” to nature and the responsiveness of her soul to colour.She notice flower minutely .Her imagination is supreme .Qualities of rose and lily have been brought out . Garden Flower colour make a link .It gives any reader a joy to be in touch with the following lines are described well…
              
                “ Give me a flower delicious as the rose.
                   And stately as the lily in her pride ”
·      My Vocation
            "Originally written by [Jean-Pierre de] Béranger, this song was `a great favourite of Thackeray. The reader may perhaps remember his reference to it in his lecture on Goldsmith ..
